LETSHUOER DX1 review: a beautifully made single-driver IEM
A lively, articulate earphone with excellent build quality, expressive upper mids and a tuning that rewards modern music.

LETSHUOER has been moving quickly, and the DX1 arrives as a single-dynamic-driver alternative to the company’s more elaborate designs. Its most immediate appeal is visual. The packaging, metalwork and gold-accented faceplate give the DX1 a level of polish that is unusual at this price.

Detail in the design
The box opens to reveal the earphones, case, cable and a generous selection of tips. The shells combine polished and brushed surfaces, with a gold outer ring and grille-like faceplate. The machining is precise enough that the DX1 feels more expensive than its category suggests.
The straight, compact shell does not try to mould itself aggressively to the ear. Tip selection therefore matters: the correct size creates a stable seal and improves both comfort and bass. Small ears may need a little angle adjustment, but an hour of continuous use produced no obvious discomfort. The slim cable does not pull strongly when the head moves.
The cable is not supplied with interchangeable plugs, so buyers should choose 3.5mm or 4.4mm at purchase. The 0.78mm two-pin connection makes later cable changes easy. The 256-core silver-plated single-crystal copper cable uses a Litz-style braid, remains soft and resists tangling. Three tip styles in three sizes provide nine pairs in total.

Fast, clean and slightly on the bright side
The DX1 uses an 11mm magnesium-aluminium topology diaphragm dynamic driver. LETSHUOER developed the driver over two years, using CNC manufacturing and precision jigs to keep the moving parts accurately aligned. A 5kHz notch filter is included in the acoustic design to reduce excess energy and resonances around that region.

The result is a clean background and sharply drawn musical lines. The tuning sits slightly above the middle of the spectrum, with sweet, well-controlled treble and vocals that remain present without becoming claustrophobically close. In a cappella recordings, breaths and small changes in vocal pressure are easy to hear, and the upper harmonics have a lively, natural quality.
Live recordings are a particular strength. The DX1 separates the singer from the band while preserving audience calls, coughs and laughter in the background. It sounds less like a studio reconstruction and more like a clear seat in the venue.
The midrange is balanced rather than thick. Lower-register vocals can sound comparatively restrained, while higher voices gain more presence and sparkle. Cantonese and Mandarin pop benefit from the clear vocal-focused production common to many classic recordings. With modern pop and electronic music, the DX1 is fast, elastic and free of bass overhang. Its low end is present but not dominant: it starts quickly and stops quickly.
Soundtracks benefit from the smooth strings and open stage. Brass can occasionally become bright in an energetic mix, but the DX1 remains expressive with orchestral material. Piano transients are especially clear, while the broad stage and quick response give complex arrangements a welcome sense of order.

Easy to drive, easy to pair
At 30 ohms and 108dB sensitivity, the DX1 is easy to drive. High-dynamic-range recordings may sound more comfortable at a lower volume than usual because the earphone is efficient and resolves small changes readily. A slightly warm source is the best partner; an extremely lean or clinical player can make the presentation feel too tightly drawn.
The DX1 is not a bass-heavy earphone, but that is part of its identity. It offers excellent midrange and treble communication, fast transients and a convincing stage. If you value build quality and live realism as much as sheer low-end impact, it is one of the more distinctive choices in its price range.
